Prime Minister Bibi and his government coalition have been bending over backwards in denial that a full scale intifada - Arab uprising - is now underway. And like I've said and written repeatedly in recent weeks, if one doesn't heed Hashem's wake-up call, it only gets louder.
As long as Haredi babies and Yeshiva students in Jerusalem were being run over by car-terrorists, the government didn't react. When three soldiers were run over in Gush Etzion, while security cameras proved without a doubt that the terrorist driver intentionally swerved off the road to hit them, the government claimed it was a hit-and-run accident.
Why the denial? Teshuva and hedonism don't go together. The current government coalition wants the latter.
King David tells us in Psalm 127:2 that if Hashem doesn't guard a city, in vain is the watchman vigilant. We see how totally ineffective Internal Security Minister Aharonovitch has been; indeed, he has been the lead denier and the king whitewasher. Bibi has been acquiescent to keep the coalition boat from rocking.
Here are some spiritual facts that the media won't tell, for they too are just as hedonistic deniers as the government. Intifada #3 is now in full force. In fact, whereas Intifadas #1 (late 80's) and #2 (late 90's) took place beyond the '67 borders, and all the terrorists came from Gaza, Judea or Samaria, Intifada #3 now includes Israeli-Arab centers of population all over the country, from Kfar Kana in the Galilee, to the Wadi Ara towns, to Taiba in the Sharon area, and on to Abu Ghosh on the way to Jerusalem. This is amazing, for Abu Ghosh was also affectionately nicknamed "Ashkenazi Arabs" because they were so friendly. Not any more.
Now, as of several hours ago, even the hedonists are standing on their hind legs, for a 20-year soldier is fighting for his very life after having been stabbed outside the Tel Aviv train station. This is no longer Jerusalem and Gush Etzion, but the heart of the hedonist home where gay tourism and desecration of the Sabbath are official public policy. The politicians are starting to admit that this is an intifada.
Since its inception, the current coalition has declared war on everything sacred. They want to dilute the laws of conversion. They want to put an end to centuries-old traditional Torah education from the cheder to the yeshiva. They want to rob the Sabbath of its holiness. They have systematically been trying to deligitimize the Haredi population and rob them of basic rights. In short, this government has made an uprising against Hashem. In measure-for-measure fashion, is it any wonder that the Arabs are uprising against the government?
Without the benefit of emuna eyes, the government doesn't connect the dots between the Gaza War of earlier this year, the current Intifada, the USA's behind-the-back dealings with Iran, and the government's anti-Torah policies. If they don't wake up, things will only get worse.
The closer we get to Moshiach, the less effective the whitewash is. There is no other solution than teshuva - the sooner the better.
PS - A personal note to the Prime Minister of Israel: Sir, don't harp on the need for unity now. When Washington opend up a big mouth against you, we backed you up big time, on this and other forums. But now that your government has taken such a dangerous anti-emuna anti-Torah stance, you are responsible, for you are the Prime Minister. Your post entails responsibility, not only privileges. It's time to act. If Hashem gave you the job, He gave you the power to do it properly. Please use it.
Update
An hour after I wrote the above, there has been another fatal stabbing attack. A young Jewish woman from Gush Etzion has been killed. Details are still not clear. May Hashem have mercy on us.
